Two steppin' in Texas

We celebrated Gibson's birthday in Texas with the family. Unfortunately we didn't want to do a party late in the afternoon because we needed to head home, so Gibson was a little cranky. However when new toys are involved spirits are usually lifted... at least momentarily.

Gibson got a motorcycle from Gerod's cousins.
He LOVED it, and since then has been riding the bike all over the house.
Saying "VROOM"
Gibson played in the fountain at Granci and Papaw's house...
he was soaked within about 10 min...
hence the reason for our shirtless pictures to follow.
Opening presents... He got all kinds of cars and trucks, clothes,
and a basketball goal and basketball. He made out pretty good.
WOW! What a FACE! He was a little upset after
we packed the toys away to get ready for cake...
The "Wheel of Fortune" birthday cake...
he is absolutely obsessed with this show! Its hilarious!
All better... and ready to eat some cake!
I don't think I have ever seen some eat a
slice of cake as if it was a sandwich.
Gibson devoured this thing! You would think with
all this sugar he would have been up for hours afterwards,
but he fell asleep as soon as we headed out of town.
Icing... YUMMY!
I had to include a picture of Chad...
Doesn't he look cute in his little Polo outfit?
This Saturday is the birthday party in OKC. We cant wait to celebrate with all of Gibson's friends up here. I still cant believe my baby boy is a two year old... Time FLIES!

Passing the time at the Park

While we were in Texas we took the boys to the park along with some of the other families that were at Gerod's high school reunion. Gibson had so much fun climbing up the stairs, and sliding down the slides. It was beyond hot outside, but Gibson didn't seem to care.

He has become a pro at climbing the stairs Posing for Mommy... How cute is he?
Inside the tube... he was eating sand in there, and each time he would
put some in his mouth he would follow with a loud "Mmmm",
which is what he says anytime he eats something.
It was hilarious to watch him do this.

Daddy holding Chad and making him giggle...
Daddy is so good at making our sweet boys laugh!
My little model... Ralph Lauren watch out...
Just hangin out
This is his "I am thinking about doing something
I know I will get in trouble for... but I will do it anyway" face
We had a blast at the park... and cant wait to get back sometime soon!

Class of 2000 Reunion

Gerod had his 10 year high school reunion this past weekend in his hometown. It was a blast getting to meet friends of his past, and seeing friends of his I already knew. Gerod had so much fun catching up with everyone and I had a ton of fun too. It's amazing how quickly 10 years can pass us by...
5 out of 6 of the "Sexy Six" from high school:
Gerod and I at the after game house party on Friday night.
Gerod and two of his favorite girls from high school... "The Twins"
Gerod with the planner of the reunion... she was a real sweet-heart.
The entire group of the "Sexy Six"... These guys are absolutely awesome and hilarious to boot!
Most everyone at the reunion decided this should be an annual get together as opposed to another 10 years between seeing each other.
Maybe next year I will be posting pics from the 11 year reunion. :)

Gibson is TWO!!!

Gibson is two years old today! I cant believe how quickly time has flown by... It seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital and here it is two years later already. It is so exciting to see his personality come out, and boy is he just like his daddy.
He is literally into everything, and has become very independent, although he loves hanging out with his buddies too. He is totally into sports; basically anything that involves a ball that can be kicked, hit or thrown! HAHAHA! Gibson also LOVES to read... sometimes when he goes to his room to play we will go and check on him and find him on the floor reading his books or at least attempting to. He is also way into cars and constantly says "VROOM" when he sees anything with wheels on it. One thing he has learned recently is to turn the lights in his room on and off... we were in the living room the other night and it looked like a strobe light was going off in the back of the house... nope just Gibson standing in his toy box flipping the switch on and off repeatedly!
Things have changed so much in the last year and each and every day I feel like he needs me less and less, but I know he will always be my little man! My hope is that he continues to grow and mature like he has in the past two years. It's just amazing how much has changed!

Happy Birthday to my BUBBA!
Your Daddy and I love you so very much!

Wednesday's Weight Loss Update

So I completely fell off the wagon this week and gained the two pounds lost last week back. We started watching Biggest Loser last night, and it reset my mind and I think I am now officially ready to begin this journey. I will be working a lot harder this week, and I plan on visiting a gym sometime this weekend to decide if I am ready to join yet.
Hopefully I will work a lot harder than I have been working lately!

Birthday Boy...

My baby boy is about to be a 2 year old!!! Oh my gosh, time has flown.

The day that brings so much joy also brings sadness that my little boy is getting older all the time. Don't get me wrong, I love watching him grow and learn new things, but sometimes I miss him being small.

These are the invitations I made up for his birthday (before adding the text)... I thought they turned out pretty cute for my first try!

We are going to have a party at the house at the beginning of October, and I cant wait! Birthday Cake, Hot Dogs, and a Moon Bounce... well, lets just say it should be fun!

Before I know it we will be planning Chad's first birthday, and gearing up for Gibson's third!! I think with subsequent children time seems to fast forward in double time.

Do you remember?

8 years ago today was a tragic day for all Americans. 9/11 is a day I will never forget.

I will always remember exactly where I was when I found out about the first plane crashing into the first tower. I remember waking up and my mom telling me of the first plane, and all I could think was "Where are the twin towers?" and "Why hadn't I heard or thought of them before?". You could say I just wasn't well informed about the trade center, but that sky line is now forever ingrained in my mind.
After going to school, and getting to my first class of the morning the second plane crashed in front of our eyes on the television screen. My first period class my senior year in high school was not one you would think of as being quiet, but I think you would have been able to hear a pin drop that morning. None of us knew what to think, or what all this meant.
At lunch all the guys talked about the possibility of joining the military, possibilities of war, and so many other possibilities of further attacks.
We were SCARED. We were HURTING. We were TERRIFIED for what the future would hold.
But we live in a great country, and we all pulled together like no one could have imagined. I firmly believe that we will get by... and that no one will ever forget what happened on 9/11/2001.
I pray for all the families who lost someone that day. I pray for all the heroes that saved someone's life that day. I pray for all the New Yorker's who will never get the images they saw that day out of their minds. And I pray for America, and the healing that we have been through. We can stand tall and say that we all worked together in one of our Country's darkest hours.
Today, and Everyday.... I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!

Wednesday Diet Update

This past week was just a bit on the crazy side, and I didn't really get much going on my diet plan. I took the boys out for a walk once for about thirty minutes and haven't gotten any further exercise done this week. I have been trying to cut out my Dr. Pepper, but it is very difficult. Too bad they don't make patches for people addicted to DP. :)
I have to start working on my diet more as well... with high cholesterol I need to start making healthier choices, not only for me but for our family.
I found a great website by Kraft Foods that has tons of easy, healthy, inexpensive recipes. I think I may try a few over the next week.
I have lost two pounds since my report last week, but I don't know if its true weight loss or not since I haven't been putting forth much of an effort.
Here is to a new week, and more effort on my part. Hopefully I can will myself to work hard to get back into shape!

Labor Day Weekend...

Labor Day weekend was tons of fun for our family. On Saturday after Gerod got home from work we went to a birthday party for a friends daughter who turned one. Gibson had a blast playing in the playroom at the party. He makes a pretty adorable cowboy, wouldn't you agree? On Sunday evening Gerod and I went on a much needed date night. We had our friends Ashlee and Ben watch the boys for a couple of hours while we went to dinner at Lakeside Grille. We enjoyed a wonderful evening of uninterrupted conversation, dinner and drinks. We also got to sit and watch a beautiful sunset on the patio of the restaurant overlooking the lake. It was a great evening.

On Monday we went to a Labor Day pool party with some friends from Sunday School. Gibson and Daddy swam while Chad and I sat around and visited with friends from class. It was a good time with good friends and good food.
This morning, Chad and I had a little photo session... he was being absolutely adorable so I took advantage of the situation and whipped out the camera. I got some pretty cute shots! I cant believe this little man is almost 2 months old! Only 9 more days!

Diet Time

As much as I hate dieting, and exercising for that matter, it is time that I work on getting back my pre-pregnancy body. I have about 5 more pounds to lose to be back to pre-Chad weight, but that is not where my goal stops. I would like to lose a total of 12 pounds. I would love to be down the additional 12 pounds by Christmas, but we will see how things go before I make that my official goal.
I plan on using the blog as my accountability during this time so I have to really try, and not give up after only a week. I will report in on my progress, as well as new healthy recipes I am trying and exercise that gets done in the past week.
This is my "official" start day so wish me luck! I have a long way to go, and two crazy boys to take care of during the process. Hopefully I can get some "ME" time, at least enough to get in some workout every now and then.

Absolutely Amazing

When Chad was only two weeks old we had some professional pictures taken of him by a good friend of ours who does amazing work. Take a look at some of our favorites!!

I got the birth announcements ordered this morning... FINALLY! I cant wait to see how they turn out!
We sure are blessed with these two amazing, and beautiful little boys we have. We are extremely thankful for them both.
