Out with the old...

I cleaned out my closet of ALL of my maternity clothes today. I am just really sick of looking at them all, and I know the only way I can get myself back into shape is by putting all of it in boxes and getting it up in the attic as soon as possible.
I am already wearing some jeans that I bought right after we found out we were pregnant... They aren't my exact pre-pregnancy size, but they also aren't maternity. Now I just need to get out and find a couple pairs of shorts that fit at least for the time being.
Gerod has his 10 year High School reunion at the end of September, and I need to be ready for it! Here is to me getting back in shape in only two months! I guess I will be doing lots of walks with the boys, and unfortunately I will be trying my very best to kick my Dr.Pepper addiction! Wish me luck in my endeavor! :)

I think we have a little model on our hands!
Me and both of my beautiful boys! I love them so much!
I hope to be better about my blogging... and I apologize for making a post the other night that matched a previous post. Guess it goes to show how sleep deprived moms can be sometimes.
I cant wait for the many many memories we have as a family!

Brother's First Meeting

The thing I was most concerned about was what Gibson's reaction would be to his new brother, but he did amazing at their first meeting. I don't think he quite knew what to think of this tiny baby, but he immediately started showering him with love.

Gibson getting to see Chad for the first time Gibson giving baby brother BIG kisses!
Giving even more kisses (he loves giving them)
Chad in his "Lil Bro" shirt I made for him to wear home
Gibson in his "Big Bro" shirt I made for him to wear home
The first meeting went much better than I expected, and I have a feeling Gibson is going to be an excellent big brother to Chad.

Hello World!

So I haven't been blogging for a while... but you will soon learn why. I had my second baby boy on July 17th at 9:14am.
Everything started in the later part of Thursday evening, July 16th... I was to be induced the next morning at approx 7:30am, but I started having some pains that seemed more painful than most previous contractions. I thought they were just the normal Braxton Hicks contractions that I had been getting for quite some time, and they would go away before too long. Gerod's parents and my Mom had all come into town for the birth the next day, but instead of us heading to the hospital at 7:00, I went in around 3:00am after getting regular contractions (about 4 to 6 min apart) at around 2:00am. Once we got to the hospital we found out I was already dilated to a 7, and I was concerned that I wouldn't have time to get the epidural, but the anesthesiologist was wonderful! By 9:14am Chad Austin was born, weighing in at 9lbs 13oz, and was 21 1/2 inches long. BIG BABY!!

The following are pictures of Chad's birth-day!

I think he could possibly be a
linebacker at only one day old!
I cant wait to see Chad and Gibson interact together as the days, and weeks, and years go by. I am sure they are going to have many great times, and create many more great memories.
Gerod and I are so blessed to have two amazing little boys in our lives, and we cant wait for what is in store for our little family!

He is finally here!

Chad Austin Black is finally here! Thursday night Gerod's parents got into town and we went to Olive Garden as my "last meal" before I was to be induced on Friday morning at 7:30am. After dinner my mom got to town and her and I stayed up chatting till almost midnight... and I finally fell asleep between 1:00 and 1:30am.

I woke around 2:00am to contractions that were ranging between 4 to 6 minutes apart. I called the hospital and the nurse told us to come in to make sure I was in real labor. Part of me thought I might be over analyzing everything and maybe was making up the contractions, but after being checked by the nurse I found out I was in true labor and was 7cm dilated. They wheeled me up to the maternity ward, and I got admitted into a room where I was checked again, and was found to be 8cm dilated. Shortly after being checked again my water broke, and things took off from there.

I was given the epidural, and before too long was a full 10cm and fully effaced. Around 7:30am I started "practice pushes" which the nurse had me do... and after only 3 sets of pushes they were ready to call the doctor. When the doctor arrived I only pushed for about 30 minutes and Chad was born.

Chad Austin Black came into the world at 9:14am weighing 9lbs 13oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. I was surprised and very happy with myself that I had such a large baby without having to have a c-section.

Chad and I are both doing great and we should be going home tomorrow afternoon sometime. Check back soon as I hope to have more pictures and updates!

Tomorrow is the day!

Sorry no pictures for this post... the camera is all packed up in the hospital bag already! I don't want to take a chance on forgetting it since its pretty important to me to get lots of pics of our newest addition.
So tomorrow is the day! I am being induced tomorrow morning at 7:30am *hopefully*. The hospital we are delivering at is one of the best in the city, and for some reason is always very crowded so I hope we don't have any issues getting in for the induction.
If things go like they did with Gibson we should be having the baby sometime around 5:00/6:00pm (if not possibly a little earlier). We absolutely cant wait to meet Chad, and I promise just as soon as I am able I will be posting pictures of the sweet little boy!

Maternity Pics... and nearly 38 weeks!

We are SO close to meeting Chad now, only 9 more days till the induction date. I have been having quite a few painful contractions, and a lot of lower back pain but none of the contractions are regular yet. I am progressing at each visit, which the doctor said is a good sign, but there is no telling if I will go into labor on my own or end up having this baby at induction time.
Currently the doc said I am measuring 41 weeks... YES... I said 41 weeks, as I stated before I wont be 38 weeks till Saturday. YIKES!! He said he thinks the baby will be around 9lbs 6oz to 9lbs 8oz, WOW! I am nervous about the possibility of having to have a c-section because of the size of the baby, but the doctor knows that I would prefer natural birth so hopefully we can stick to that course of action.
We took some maternity pictures this evening, and got a couple Family shots (pre-Chad of course) as well. I thought they all turned out pretty adorable so I thought I would share.

Only 9 more days and I will be holding him in my arms!
I promise to update as soon as anything happens, or if we end up having to go to the hospital earlier than planned! WE CANT WAIT TO MEET YOU CHAD!!!
