THE LION KING!!!

Let me just start by saying if you ever have a chance to go see Lion King on Broadway please take advantage! This was an amazing play from beginning to end.

We had even better seats then I remember purchasing, and were in the lower orchestra section in the 3 edge seats. This was made even more awesome when in the opening number "The Circle of Life" all the animals came down the aisle to the right of us... we were so close we could have touched them if we wanted to. As much of a nerd as I may be, I actually started crying during this song. The whole thing was just too wonderful to even begin to describe.

The costumes were so wonderful, and elaborate! I cant even begin to imagine who had the creativity to think those things up. The masks on some of the characters moved along with them, and were just incredible to say the least.

My favorites were Raffiki, and Zazzu... I think Raffiki had to have the most magnificent singing voice I have ever had the privilege of hearing, and Zazzu was just hilarious!

Needless to say we had a blast at the play and cant wait for all the new Broadway plays they are bringing to town. Some of the ones we are especially interested in are "Legally Blonde The Musical", and "The Wizard of Oz". I cant even tell you how excited I am for these to come to town. I can honestly say that I have no problem paying a high ticket price to see such an amazing on stage performance! I hope you all can have a chance to see this one day! It was completely and totally worth it in every single way!

My 20 month old baby boy, not so much of a baby anymore!

Gibson is 20 months old exactly today! I cant believe how quickly my baby boy has grown up. It makes me sad that he is getting so old, and so big! To make matters worse, Gerod and I decided to convert Gibson's bed to the toddler bed as of Monday afternoon. He is on his second night of sleeping in his "big boy bed". This afternoon he even took it upon himself to go lay down and take a nap... I didn't do anything, he just went into his room, shut his door, laid down and passed out. It was super sweet, and precious, but it makes me sad to know that he feels independent enough to go lay down on his own.
I will have to post pictures later of Gibson in his big boy bed. I hope that he continues to do well with this change. So far he has done amazing!

On another subject, we finally started painting Chad's nursery this weekend. Sunday when my mom and sister left town we completely cleaned out the room, and started prep work. We got all the painting finished tonight, but we still have a couple of touch ups to do. The furniture is in as well so as soon as we have all the painting done we will be picking that up and getting everything put together. I hope to have the majority of the room finished by this weekend with the exception of the bedding and draperies (which my grandmother will be making). I am so glad to see the vision that Gerod and I had for this room finally come together.

Also... I am 31 weeks 3 days along now... and we are slowly but surely getting to the end of this pregnancy. I am super uncomfortable, and way ready for Chad to be born, but on the other hand I am extremely nervous to have 2 kids!! My next doctors visit is this Thursday, and hopefully everything will still be looking great.

Plans for the weekend...

I am so excited for this weekend... I have been long awaiting it since Christmas! My wonderful Mom and Sister are coming up tomorrow night, and will be here through Sunday. We plan on getting lots of girl time in which includes the obvious shopping, and of course PEDICURES (which I am in desperate need of since I basically cant reach my feet at this point). However, the thing I am most excited about for this weekend will happen around 2:00pm on Saturday. For Christmas I bought my Sister, my Mom, and I all tickets for the Lion King on Broadway. This is the last weekend the amazing musical is in town, and I am beyond excited for this performance that I have been told is absolutely AMAZING! Gerod and I are thinking that after the play we will take the lovely ladies out to dinner downtown, and then desert at Melting Pot.

Anyway, the weekend should be a blast, and I cant wait for the girls to get here!
Also... STAY TUNED... I will be posting pictures of our newly remodeled kitchen VERY soon. The contractor should be finishing up tomorrow with the cabinets and the refinished bar area. I cant wait for it to all be finished because I know it will look amazing, but mostly I would like to get my kitchen back. :) And when my Mom and Sister leave on Sunday Gerod and I will be starting our remodel of the guest bedroom into the nursery for Chad. Cant wait for that to be completed!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

GOING WIRELESS... FINALLY!!

Well we are officially going wireless! Finally... Welcome to the 21st century! On one hand I am beyond excited to finally get rid of all the connecting cables/wires that keep our computer working on the Internet and otherwise, but I am not really that happy about the fact that all the stuff I need to make this much needed transition all come in separate packages!! :( I bought the wireless router thinking this was the only thing I needed to make this change, but I found out after one phone call to our Internet provider, another phone call to the router manufacturer *and being hung up on*, and then one last call to the router manufacturer that I still actually need a WIRELESS ADAPTER. UGH! Well... at least by tomorrow after a trip to the store I can eliminate all the ugly wires that Gibson is constantly trying to mess with and be able to use the laptop wherever I need it. Anyway... I know this post was very boring, but I felt the need to shout it to the rooftops that we are finally entering the technological age and are proud of it!

Getting closer...

I cant believe I am 30 weeks today! That means only 10 weeks (approx.) until I meet my Chad! :) I am beyond excited, and Gerod is too.
We still have a lot of things left to do and purchase, but we are getting closer. I just bought a new swing which I am so excited about. It is one of the swings that can move from side to side, or front to back. I am going to order the double stroller and a new matching car seat sometime in the next week... and after my Mom and Sister leave next weekend we are going to start painting the nursery! I promise to post pictures of us working on that. :)
Anyway... we are getting so much closer to meeting our newest little guy, and hopefully soon we will have everything finished so that we are ready for his arrival.
Hopefully I can post a new belly picture sometime this evening or tomorrow!

Maybe I just need a padded room?!?

This picture describes what I walked into today after fixing my hair. Believe me... after the blueberry yogurt incident, I thought I had the living room clean enough to leave Gibson alone for only a little while. I made sure there was no food out, and no drinks out that he could make a mess with. I took my shower, then checked on Gibson... No misbehaving, he was just watching Nemo. Then I blew my hair dry, and again I checked on Gibson... again, he was just watching his movie. After I started straightening my hair, I heard a strange noise in the living room... I ran to investigate, and this is what I found.

My son... sitting on top of the laptop, which is beside our love seat. He was licking on a peppermint stick, which obviously I had forgotten about (there was a full bowl of them behind the laptop on the side table). He had licked and discarded about 5 or 6 of the sticks, and had two in his hands, one of which he was working on. There was sticky mess all over his hands, and also on the arm of the love seat.

Needless to say I don't know if I will be taking showers while my little man is awake. I think I may need to change my routine to take place during his nap time... or get a padded room to place him in. I wonder how much those cost?

Blueberry Yogurt

Adventures with a 19 month old boy are pretty amazing, hilarious, and aggravating all at the same time on occasion.

Yesterday I needed to take a shower, and get myself looking somewhat presentable, being that I had been in jeans and a sweatshirt, with my hair in a cap all day long, looking like... well... a pregnant woman who was too lazy to get herself going enough to get ready for the day.
As usual, for my shower-time, I put in one of Gibson's favorite movies (A Bee Movie), and left the living room. This is a usual occurrence, as usually I am too lazy to get moving in the morning, and end up getting ready sometime around 3:00pm just before going to get Gerod from work. So, I didn't think twice about leaving Gibson alone for the 15 minutes I would be showering.
Once in the shower, which was SO nice by the way, I started to remember that I had fed only half of the blueberry yogurt to Gibson about an hour earlier, and the remainder was placed on the side table next to the love seat. For about a second my mind wandered to a scenario of Gibson getting into the yogurt while I was out of the room, and completely destroying my couches with the blue-ish purple product, but then I thought... That would never happen.
On the contrary... when I finished my shower, as I usually do, I walked into the living room to check on my little man. Usually his eyes are still glued to the movie, and he may have pulled out a couple more toys from the toy box... but what I found was absolutely beyond TERRIBLE!!
I didn't take a picture out of sheer embarrassment!!! I found Gibson, sitting on the love seat, watching his movie, with the container of yogurt *empty at this point* in one hand, a spoon in the other, and blueberry yogurt all over himself, as well as my cream colored love seat!!! It was everywhere, along with little blueberry yogurt hand prints!!! Oh my gosh! A mothers worst nightmare!!! Luckily, I came in before the mess could dry, and I got it all out, although I am not quite sure how?!?

FYI: NEVER leave a 19 month old, who just learned how to climb on your furniture, alone in a room if there is anything that he could even possibly get into. Actually even if its impossible for him to get into it... he will!

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mothers out there!
My Mothers Day this year was awesome. I was getting ready for church when Gibson came walking into the bathroom holding a card... too cute... and then I got to see my gift which was a ton of photos of Gibson and Gerod. They were sneaky and went and did a little photo shoot so I could have some great pictures for my Mothers Day gift. Here are a few of my favorites for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks so much for making my Mothers Day so very special this year! I love you both (and Chad too of course!)

29 weeks!!!

I am officially 29 weeks pregnant! This means only 11 weeks left, and hopefully it will actually be less than that! I cant wait to meet Mr. Chad, especially after our very special ultrasound on Friday morning.
We finally finished up washing all of Gibson's little man clothes, and they are hanging or folded and ready for Chad. The poor kid has no clothes... and I am being completely sarcastic. Gerod had to go buy 350 children's hangers the other day, and I have had to send him back to get even more. Needless to say I probably don't need to shop anymore, but I cant help myself when I see such cute baby boy outfits. :)
The nursery hasn't even been started yet, but as soon as my Mom and Sister have left from coming up to visit (May 23rd weekend), we are going to get started painting, and I think things will start falling into place. I absolutely cant wait!
July 25th will be here before we know it!

Our 3D/4D sonogram!!!

So Chad cooperated pretty well today for the sonogram. We got some amazing 4D film, and great 3D images. He didn't want any pictures of his feet though... ?
I think he might have Gerod's nose and my lips... I love the cute kissable lips on Gibson and I am thinking Chad has been blessed with them as well! Although there better not be any girls kissing on my boys anytime in the near future! This one is just precious to me for some reason, it looks like he is cuddling into me. I could be completely wrong but I think this image is breathtaking. We definitely still have a boy... just in case anyone might be wondering. I am sure he will be so proud that I showed off his "boy parts" to the world.
This was not my Mother's Day gift... but what better way to spend Mother's Day than knowing that you have one beautiful baby boy already and another on the way! I cant wait to meet my Chad Austin... Only 11 weeks left (although I am hoping he gets here earlier than that).
One of these days I will post another belly pic... maybe tonight! I just always seem to forget about it.
