Big Brother Status...

So we have known for a while now... about 6 weeks or so... but Gibson is officially going to be a big brother. I am 10weeks and 2days along, due July 25, 2009.

We told our families over the past week when we were visiting in Texas, and everyone is elated at our news. So we decided its about time to let the cat out of the bag, and let everyone else know as well.

We cant wait to find out what we are having. We are thinking sometime in late February or early March.

It should be a fun next 6 plus months...

Tag Time!

The object of the picture tag is to:
1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer
2) Select the 4th picture in the folder
3) Explain the picture
4) Tag 4 people to do the same

NO CHEATING!
(cropping, editing, etc!)

Here is mine:

This is actually a picture of my hubby doing what he loves... play golf! He and a couple of his buddies from Tulsa played (and won) three tournaments that allowed them to qualify and play at a Tournament in North Carolina at the ever popular and famous Pinehurst. This was about 2 weeks before I was due to have our little man Gibson... but I couldnt let Gerod give up this amazing trip, and amazing opportunity. This was on the driving range before they went to play.
I tag Sarah and Megan... :) Share with me girls!

Wrap it up!

So I am pretty sure that we have all of our Christmas shopping done. This is the first year we have ordered off the internet, so I hope that everything gets to us in plenty of time. Now I have to tackle the task of wrapping everything. I am not an expert by any means, but I am getting better as the years go on. Usually I will coordinate my wrapping paper to somehow match my tree and other Christmas decor, but since we have decided (unfortunately) to not put up the tree this year, I was kind of limitless in my decision making process. I went with something classic, but all match each other. I cant have 8 different kinds of wrapping paper that dont color coordinate. I know... its all going to end up ripped to shreds in piles on the floor, but decorating a box is something that I think should be done, and you have to make it all look at the least bit descent. Since I wont have a tree, I have to at least make the packages look all fancy and pretty! Now I guess the challenge will be finding a place to put them all once they are wrapped.

Hmm... I will have to think on that one.

Good luck to all those in the same boat as me. I have a feeling I wont get any help, as is the usual for gift wrapping in my household. Gerod was always fortunate to have his father (who is an expert wrapper I might add), do all his wrapping for him every year. And sometimes he will even have him do it now, if its a gift for me!

The power of believing!

I was watching the most wonderful movie this afternoon, and I think if you havent seen it, you should. Its called The Polar Express and it is a movie for kids, but just as wonderful if your an adult!

The movie is based on a book written in 1985 by Chris Van Allsburg, that I was lucky enough to hear just about every Christmas read by my loving father. The movie came out in 2004, but I didnt see it for the first time until last year around the Christmas season.

Its all about a doubting little boy who gets to ride on a magical train to the North Pole, along with many other kids from all over the world, where he gets to see Santa and all the elves. In the beginning you can tell he wants to believe in Santa, but everything is telling him that he doesnt exist. Before Santa leaves to start delivering toys he rounds up the reindeer who have beautiful silver bells on them. All the children comment on the glorious sound that the bells are making, but the little boy cant hear them. The power of belief, and wonder in this film bring out the kid in everyone and makes you want to BELIEVE all over again.

Make this year a special one, and believe, just like you did when you were little, and watch the movie. It will definitely put you in the holiday spirit!

Thanksgiving... and Stomach Bugs!!! :(

Thanksgiving was pretty great this year, with the exception of my sister and nephew not being able to join us for the festivities in OKC. We enjoyed all the wonderful food I am accustomed to, and loved being lazy and relaxing.
Mom and I went and saw Twilight Thanksgiving afternoon, and it was wonderful. Not as good as the book, but great just the same. We were so glad to have both waited to go together. We had a great time!
Black Friday was crazy madness, as I am sure it was everywhere else as well. I got most of the Christmas presents taken care of, but I still have a few things to finish up on. I cant believe that Christmas is almost here. The year has flown by way too quickly.

After my parents, and brother left on Sunday Gerod and I got completely sick. I think we caught the stomach bug that Mom and Steven had last week. Gerod was sick starting Sunday, and all through Monday and I was sick from Sunday to Tuesday. BIG YUCK!!! I cant tell you how much I detest being sick, especially sick to my stomach!!! :( DOUBLE YUCK!!!
Although I think we are all doing much better now. Gibson is back to his normal self, and Gerod and I aren't sick anymore either.

Christmas is only 22 days away!!! I have to get so much completed!!!
Hopefully I will have time to post again between now and then. :)

Sick as a dog... or rather a little boy...

Gibson is officially SICK. Poor guy has a viral infection, which is consisting of a sore throat, vomitting, and a severe rash. I feel so bad for my little man. He has never been this sick in his life! I hate feeling helpless in making him better. He finally fell asleep this morning for a nap, and I am hoping he can get in a good rest and wake up feeling better.
The doc said that viral infections cant be medicated because its just a virus and it has to run its course... they said the sore throat could last 3 to 5 days, the vomitting only about 8-12 hours (we started that last night around 1am) so that should be over soon, and then there is a possibility that diarhea (sorry for too much info) could start in and last anywhere from 5 days to 3 weeks.
I sure hope my baby boy gets to feeling better soon. My family is coming in tomorrow evening for the holiday, and I would hope that he has a better diagnosis by then.

PRAY for my little man, and that he get better soon!

It's a proven fact... cookies induce sleep!

Gibson was absolutely precious last night. I gave him a cookie before we left to go to a friends for dinner. I left the living room and came back to find him laying on the pillow eating his cookie, and not moving anything but his eyes to watch his favorite cartoon on the tv. I got the camera out and started snapping a few pictures, and next thing I knew he was asleep. Poor guy must not have gotten a good enough afternoon nap. It was too cute not to share.
right after eating the cookie
Mommy's sweet angel sleeping!

Black and White

We attended a friends "Black and White" themed birthday bash on Friday night. It was a fun-filled evening of getting together with good friends, playing Rock Band, and watching old people dance at "Friends". Happy Birthday to Sarah... we had a great time.
All the girls Gerod and I

The rest of the weekend was packed full of errands, shopping, and hanging out with friends. It will be good to get a break soon, but it wont be happening quite yet. I have jewelry parties Monday and Tuesday nights, small groups Wednesday, dinner with friends on Thursday another Jewelry party on Friday, a birthday party for one of Gibson's buddies on Saturday, and one last jewelry party on Sunday. Then it will be time to prepare for Thanksgiving, and the arrival of the Wright clan for the holiday weekend. :) Maybe we can get some rest somewhere in the middle of all the craziness!

Back Home!

Fall is here and Gibson is getting so big... we went out to the front yard the other day to take a few pics in the leaves (which are few since we dont have a tree), but still turned out well.

We went to Texas this weekend and visited both families, and had a blast. I had two great Premier Jewelry parties, and we got to spend some time with the family which was very much needed.
When we got back our new car finally came in... a 2007 Tahoe LTZ... we are so excited for our next trip because this will be an amazing traveling vehicle. When I get a chance I will take some pictures of the car, and get them up here! Gerod was like a kid at Christmas when it came in last night. He was beyond excited and had to take it around the block as soon as the guy who brought it over left. We got out and about for a while today and enjoyed driving the new car and hanging out with some great friends. We went to Bass Pro Shops where Gibson had a blast staring at the fish and trying on new jackets. We had a fun-filled weekend, and a great day. We cant wait to get back to Texas to see the family again, but it was also good to get home to our own place.

Rock the VOTE!

I am happy to say that I have voted... and proudly wear my "I voted" sticker as I type. I cant imagine living in a country where you are denied the right to vote for a candidate you think is worthy to hold a public office. I am proud to live in America where we are able to VOTE a person into office.
I dont know who will win tonight... but I will be watching with wide eyes as the ballots are cast, and the votes are counted. :) I have to say that I proudly voted for... drum roll please...

I am so glad that after tonight this election will be over. Quite frankly over two years of campaign ads, and mudslinging, is my limit.

Neewollah... and the Car Hunt begins...

Just a few of my favorite pictures from the "Neewollah" Party the other night at the Jones' house. Our Mouse Family
Gibson and his mini pumpkins...

and my favorite...!

Tonight I have a business meeting for the new business adventure I have gotten into. I am selling jewelry for Premier Designs, and am beyond excited about the future it holds for me. The rest of this week will be dedicated to getting a new vehicle since ours is on its last legs... Wish us luck in the car hunt, it is definitely not my favorite thing to do in the world. :(

Having fun with blogging...

Okay... so I am officially going to join the blogging world!

I am not the most technolgically savvy, but I think I can get by. I am currently working on getting this blog an updated look but am on a wait list to get it done.

Now onto the Black Family... we are doing great! Enjoying life and loving living it.

Gibson is ONE and growing and maturing each and every day. Gerod and I enjoy getting to see him learn new things each and every day and cant wait for more adventures for him.

We recently went to Haunt the Zoo where Gibson dressed up as Mickey Mouse, and was just the cutest little Mickey Mouse anyone has ever seen (although maybe I am a little partial since he is my son). We enjoyed getting to show him off to all of our friends, but didnt get out to trick-or-treat this year. We think next year will be better since he should understand the whole concept a little more.

We also went to a Halloween party (renamed: Neewollah), with our sunday school class friends and all of our many children. Gibson had a blast playing with all the kids, taking wagon rides, and searching for baby pumpkins. Gibson also won the cutest kid costume, and Mommy and Daddy were beyond proud!
We had a blast hanging out with all our friends, and watching the kids play all evening.

Afterwards we came home to watch the Tech v. Texas game... Gerod had to throw himself his own pity party when Texas lost in the last few minutes of the game. He agrees that it was a great game, he was just extremely disappointed in the outcome.

In other news... Gerod and I enjoyed an "adult only" halloween party at a friends house and had a great time. There was a "G" theme and everyone dressed up in their best "G" costumes. There were many creative people, and Gerod and I were not among those few. We dressed as "glitter" (which basically consisted of glitter on my clothing and body... couldnt think of anything else), and Gerod was a gas pump. We enjoyed an evening without Gibson, which is rare, but he had a great time at a great friends house for the evening.

My new passion... making this blog GREAT!

No more news to report... I am headed to bed before a long Monday tomorrow!
