Big Brother Status...

So we have known for a while now... about 6 weeks or so... but Gibson is officially going to be a big brother. I am 10weeks and 2days along, due July 25, 2009.

We told our families over the past week when we were visiting in Texas, and everyone is elated at our news. So we decided its about time to let the cat out of the bag, and let everyone else know as well.

We cant wait to find out what we are having. We are thinking sometime in late February or early March.

It should be a fun next 6 plus months...

Tag Time!

The object of the picture tag is to:
1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer
2) Select the 4th picture in the folder
3) Explain the picture
4) Tag 4 people to do the same

NO CHEATING!
(cropping, editing, etc!)

Here is mine:

This is actually a picture of my hubby doing what he loves... play golf! He and a couple of his buddies from Tulsa played (and won) three tournaments that allowed them to qualify and play at a Tournament in North Carolina at the ever popular and famous Pinehurst. This was about 2 weeks before I was due to have our little man Gibson... but I couldnt let Gerod give up this amazing trip, and amazing opportunity. This was on the driving range before they went to play.
I tag Sarah and Megan... :) Share with me girls!

Wrap it up!

So I am pretty sure that we have all of our Christmas shopping done. This is the first year we have ordered off the internet, so I hope that everything gets to us in plenty of time. Now I have to tackle the task of wrapping everything. I am not an expert by any means, but I am getting better as the years go on. Usually I will coordinate my wrapping paper to somehow match my tree and other Christmas decor, but since we have decided (unfortunately) to not put up the tree this year, I was kind of limitless in my decision making process. I went with something classic, but all match each other. I cant have 8 different kinds of wrapping paper that dont color coordinate. I know... its all going to end up ripped to shreds in piles on the floor, but decorating a box is something that I think should be done, and you have to make it all look at the least bit descent. Since I wont have a tree, I have to at least make the packages look all fancy and pretty! Now I guess the challenge will be finding a place to put them all once they are wrapped.

Hmm... I will have to think on that one.

Good luck to all those in the same boat as me. I have a feeling I wont get any help, as is the usual for gift wrapping in my household. Gerod was always fortunate to have his father (who is an expert wrapper I might add), do all his wrapping for him every year. And sometimes he will even have him do it now, if its a gift for me!

The power of believing!

I was watching the most wonderful movie this afternoon, and I think if you havent seen it, you should. Its called The Polar Express and it is a movie for kids, but just as wonderful if your an adult!

The movie is based on a book written in 1985 by Chris Van Allsburg, that I was lucky enough to hear just about every Christmas read by my loving father. The movie came out in 2004, but I didnt see it for the first time until last year around the Christmas season.

Its all about a doubting little boy who gets to ride on a magical train to the North Pole, along with many other kids from all over the world, where he gets to see Santa and all the elves. In the beginning you can tell he wants to believe in Santa, but everything is telling him that he doesnt exist. Before Santa leaves to start delivering toys he rounds up the reindeer who have beautiful silver bells on them. All the children comment on the glorious sound that the bells are making, but the little boy cant hear them. The power of belief, and wonder in this film bring out the kid in everyone and makes you want to BELIEVE all over again.

Make this year a special one, and believe, just like you did when you were little, and watch the movie. It will definitely put you in the holiday spirit!

Thanksgiving... and Stomach Bugs!!! :(

Thanksgiving was pretty great this year, with the exception of my sister and nephew not being able to join us for the festivities in OKC. We enjoyed all the wonderful food I am accustomed to, and loved being lazy and relaxing.
Mom and I went and saw Twilight Thanksgiving afternoon, and it was wonderful. Not as good as the book, but great just the same. We were so glad to have both waited to go together. We had a great time!
Black Friday was crazy madness, as I am sure it was everywhere else as well. I got most of the Christmas presents taken care of, but I still have a few things to finish up on. I cant believe that Christmas is almost here. The year has flown by way too quickly.

After my parents, and brother left on Sunday Gerod and I got completely sick. I think we caught the stomach bug that Mom and Steven had last week. Gerod was sick starting Sunday, and all through Monday and I was sick from Sunday to Tuesday. BIG YUCK!!! I cant tell you how much I detest being sick, especially sick to my stomach!!! :( DOUBLE YUCK!!!
Although I think we are all doing much better now. Gibson is back to his normal self, and Gerod and I aren't sick anymore either.

Christmas is only 22 days away!!! I have to get so much completed!!!
Hopefully I will have time to post again between now and then. :)
