Sunday Birthday Bash!

Gibson had a blast at a birthday party for a friend on Sunday afternoon. It was a beautiful day, and they had hot dogs cooking on the grill, and all the kids got to play in the backyard. They had a small water table setup as well as a small kiddie pool. Gibson didn't have a swim suit in his diaper bag, but that didn't stop him from joining in on all the fun.

He was in the water like it was second nature to him. After about 45 minutes of play we finally changed his clothes... I didn't know diapers could hold as much water as his did. They are definitely SUPER absorbent.

We cant wait to get him back to a real pool with his actual bathing suit on. He is going to be a little fish just like both his parents were at his age! Cant wait!

36 weeks and counting...

We are getting closer and closer to the due date! Chad should be here before we know it! Definitely getting bigger and bigger each and every day. My last doctors visit confirmed my fears when the doc said that he thinks this baby might be bigger than Gibson was, so possibly over 8lbs 11oz. This is one time I hope the doctor is wrong! Either way I am just ready for his arrival.

We started working on the hospital bag on Friday night, and should have it all taken care of and in place close to the door in case we need to make a mad dash to the hospital. We will again be scheduling an induction which should be less than three weeks from now... boy does that put things into perspective.

The time is ticking away, and soon we will be a family of four instead of a family of three. Big adjustments are in order... for all of us, but we are really ready for this new chapter.

Chad's Nursery is almost finished!

Chad's nursery is finally almost all done! We still need a glider chair, as well as a lamp, and a few decorative pieces for the hutch, but mostly its finished! My grandmother made all the bedding, and drapes, and I was finally able to get it all setup by this afternoon... not too bad considering I didn't get it all until last night. What can I say, I am just a tad bit excited.
Needless to say she did a fabulous job on everything, and I really think everything is finally coming together. I am just anxious for it to all finally be finished.

This is the main wall... I got crafty and made the letters match.
I should have taken a close up so you can see how well it matches. Bedding from Chad's view
Teddy Bear... so precious!
Curtains and Swing
Hutch... obviously it needs a few more
things to give it that "finished" look.
I promise once everything is completed I will post a FINAL picture of the room. Hopefully it will be done in the next week or so... considering Chad should be here in approximately 4 1/2 more weeks. Can you believe that's all the time that I have left? We will be meeting our second son in such a short time, and Gerod and I are getting so excited. My only fear is how Gibson will react to his new brother... I guess it will take some time... but I think that they will become the best of friends in due time!

You Hold My Hand & Also My Heart

With Fathers Day upon us, and Gerod out of town and away from the computer... I thought I would post a sneak peek at part of his Fathers Day gift. I captured this photo at the zoo the other day, and tweaked it to my liking this evening. I think it is just adorable to see the sweet hand of our little man holding on to his Daddy's hand... It is a symbol of love that cant truly ever be measured.
Hopefully Gerod likes his Fathers Day gift, and everyone enjoys the photo that shows a true love between Father and Son.

Sunday Afternoon

We took Gibson to the park this past Sunday because the weather was wonderful. We found a new little park very close to our house that has tons of things to do. He loved climbing all over the place, swinging, and especially sliding. He figured out how to slide down all by himself, and had a blast doing it. (WARNING: Picture Overload!!!) We took a ton of pictures of him at the park, and these are a few of my favorites.

Pondering what to play on next

Get ready Mom... I am on the way down!

I love this one... you can just tell he is having a blast

Gibson and Mommy getting ready to slide

Gibson and Daddy sliding

Smiling at Daddy

Sliding down the BIG slide
We enjoy afternoon's like this so much, and we cant wait to get Gibson back to play. One day we will be able to take BOTH boys to the park!
In baby news:
I had my 34 week appt today (I am 33 weeks 5 days), and all went well. The doc says that the baby is right around 6lbs already which means I may have a really big boy on my hands again, just like Gibson. He said that if I haven't delivered by 39 weeks we can do induction again, because I would prefer not to have to deliver by C-Section due to the size of the baby. We will see how things go.
My next appt is June 25th and from there we begin weekly appts. I cant believe we are this close already. Still quite a few things to get done, but we are slowly getting closer to being finished.
More updates to come!

Take me out to the ballpark...

I absolutely LOVE this expression!
As you can tell we had an amazing night at the ballpark watching the OKC Redhawks defeat the Memphis Redbirds. Gibson loved watching the baseball players run around the bases, and said "ball" all night long.

He looks so innocent here

Blake, Gibson and Daddy enjoying the game

This is pretty much the expression Gibson
had on his face the entire game

Mommy and Gibson... clapping along with the music

He was so tired at the end of the game.
We cant wait to get back to the ballpark. It was such a great evening; perfect weather, wonderful friends, and a great ball game. It should be fun to get out there some more this summer to enjoy the festivities.

Nearly 33 weeks!

Oh my goodness... Am I really this big?? Holy COW! Literally... that's what I feel like... a COW! That's okay though, I know my second little man should be just a huge as his big brother, maybe not as big *here's to hoping*?!? I am feeling as well as I can right now, just running out of space in the belly, and I am having some breathing problems which is very typical at this point.
Another appt next week, and then one more two week wait between appts, then we start the weekly appts. I cant believe we are already this close! Chad will be here before we know it!!

Gibson... GET READY! You're going to be a big brother before too much longer.

Sneak Peek...

Chad's nursery is finally getting some love. We finished all the painting (but still have to take down some of the tape... Oops!), and have put the furniture together and arranged it how we want it. There are still many things that need to be finished. I have a lot of decorating to do, and the bedding is currently being made by my grandmother. But I know it will all come together soon enough.
I cant wait to see how it all looks in the end, but I know it will be another precious little boy's bedroom.

I realized today I haven't taken a belly shot recently so I plan on having Gerod take one tonight, and I will post tomorrow. I feel absolutely HUGE, which I think I say every single day. Everyone that I tell my due date to gives me a look of pure amazement because they too think my belly is just almost too massive for just one baby in there. Thanks!

I have another OB appointment next week... we are finally getting down to the wire. Only 7 1/2 weeks left before we meet our second son, and I couldn't be more excited!
